It's time to join us on Hideaway!
That's right, folks - we're sweeping the sand off the dock and shining the golden pineapple chandeliers in preparation for Hideaway's Open Beta release! It's been a long time coming but the resort is finally ready to open its doors and Uncle has been waiting years for this moment! Akua has been training her entire life to be the best Activities Coordinator and Akamu has ensured that Rooms are spotless and ready for guests. All of the inhabitants are so excited to welcome everyone to their very own paradise vacation. Summer may be over, but on Hideaway - it's only just begun.
The wait is finally over!
The concept of Hideaway began in the midst of the global pandemic. Most of us couldn't physically be on an island paradise, let alone dream of financially getting away to the tropics at a luxury resort! The idea for Hideaway was to provide a place for people around the world to live out the vacation of their dreams, with no barriers or limitations! The Hideaway Team has worked tirelessly for the last three years to bring an experience to you that is yours to shape into whatever you want it to be.
New Release Date
Start practicing your volleyball serve, revving up your jet ski, and preparing for an island party like you've never experienced before...
If you came to our Community Stage Event two weeks ago, you might be wondering why we've delayed the release by a week. During the final Alpha test we found a handful of bugs and improvements required to balance the game - so we're working on just that! We need some more time to stomp out some last-minute issues and be confident that Open Beta will go smoothly.
And with that... Hideaway will enter its free-to-play Open Beta on Saturday the 16th September at 5pm EST.
Everyone with a Minecraft: Java Edition account will be able to play on Hideaway for free - no mods or additional installs required. Add the server now so you don't miss out on the fun: playhideaway.com
Grand Opening Party
Open Beta calls for a celebration... so join us at the Grand Opening Party one hour after the boat pulls up to the dock! We'll be gathering in The Astral Auditorium and hosting a party to celebrate everyone's arrival! We'd love to see as many of you at the Grand Opening Party as possible and anyone can attend - as long as you have a Minecraft account, you'll be able to play! Come talk to the team, meet some of the island residents, and join us for the ultimate island celebration as we launch Hideaway into its official Open Beta release!

The Hideaway Community
We've already accomplished the crucial first step of building a wholesome, welcoming, and accepting community, where everyone is free to express themselves. We've got so many amazingly creative and talented people in our Discord creating fan art, memes, and even organizing community games and events. We wanted to give a special shoutout to Crystalz, who recently hosted a Community Talent Show in game on The Astral Auditorium stage.
Room Decorating Competition
We always want to encourage more community content and during our last Alpha test, Dr. Décor himself hosted a Room Decorating Competition. He has thoroughly inspected each Room submission and made his decision based on a number of factors - building skills, furniture collection, expert use of the Hideaway Tools, Room layout - and of course, he is always swayed by his personal taste!

There were truly so many amazing Rooms and we can't believe the effort and work that went into these creations over such a short period of time. We can't wait to see what you all do in Open Beta and beyond!
